Apple releases iOS 8.0.2 to fix nearly useless iPhone 6 models and with some new improvements

On Wednesday, September 24, Apple officially released the first public update for iOS 8, iOS 8.0.1, and it didn’t go over too well. Now, though, the Apple has launched a new update to address those issues, and fix the previous ones as well.
That update went out earlier this week, and was quickly yanked by the company after iPhone 6 owners discovered their phones no longer connected to cellular networks, and that their Touch ID buttons no longer scanned for fingerprints.

The iOS 8.0.2 update features the same changelog as iOS 8.0.1, with one important inclusion: “Fixes an issue in iOS 8.0.1 that impacted cellular network connectivity and Touch ID on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.” The update also includes a fix to make HealthKit apps work, a third-party keyboard fix, improved reliability for Reachability and more.

The full iOS 8.0.2 changelog is as follow:
  • Fixes an issue in iOS 8.0.1 that impacted cellular network connectivity and Touch ID on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
  • Fixes a bug so HealthKit apps can now be made available on the App Store
  • Addresses an issue where 3rd party keyboards could become deselected when a user enters their passcode
  • Fixes an issue that prevented some apps from accessing photos from the Photo Library
  • Improves the reliability of the Reachability feature on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
  • Fixes an issue that could cause unexpected cellular data usage when receiving SMS/MMS messages
  • Better support of Ask To Buy for Family Sharing for In-App Purchases
  • Fixes an issue where ringtones were sometimes not restored from iCloud backups
  • Fixes a bug that prevented uploading photos and videos from Safari

Apple says that less than 40,000 iPhone and iPhone 6 Plus devices were affected by the bad release, which was up for just over an hour until the company pulled it to investigate.

To update to iOS 8.0.2 , simply plug your phone in and check for updates in iTunes or navigate to Settings>General and tap Software Update. Complete Detail HERE .
