Centurion at Mohali

Debuting for New Zealand Under-19s at only 16 and captaining the side at the World Cup the following year, he was surely destined for greater things from an early age. An excellent cricket brain, good head on his shoulders, classy technique, well-spoken – in short, a coach’s dream. This followed on from years of being every teacher’s dream at Tauranga Boys’ College, where Williamson was head boy.

Williamson is certainly New Zealand’s most prolific batting talent, made for the Test arena, but that label alone isn’t enough

He is a marvel with the bat and magical with the ball.

Belting the fastest ton of Champions League a rising star has marked its entry.
After the blitzering innings of 100+ at Mohali, Nossy at an interview said,

"There was a bit of relief once I put that away because I was also getting a bit tired in the middle. It was nice to put a few away for runs at the death. It will be lovely to score more but you have to realise that you have to play freely in T20 cricket. It is great that I played the right way tonight and it will be even better if I can play this way in the future. Once I walked off the field, there were a couple of handshakes from the teammates. It was all about getting a good total on the board and later doing the business with the ball. It is about winning cricket games for your team and it was great to do that today".

On being asked
T20 centurion - how do you feel about it?

"It feels good and nice to play that kind of an innings, particularly with the Doctor (Daniel Harris) out of the side for this game. He is a big player for us and it was great to do that in his absence. For me the most important part was that we came out winning."
