Education for all ? Maybe or Maybe Not - By Gaurav Srivastava

                                                   EDUCATION
                                            A Article By Gaurav Srivastava

Education... when one says that every one must get the education, the prime thing which comes to our mind is a image of a child studying in a class, a child turning into a student. But is it always about study...??
Think of a class comprising of 80-100 students. All get the same education, same books, same clothes, same teachers, same environments... everything same... but is there result also the same?

The answer is no. Because education isn't just studying... education means expressing oneself. Studying is just a part of good education... your morals, your thoughts, your understandings, sports, games, dramas, your friends everything... everything is a part of education...
There was a boy... he used to live in a hut outside a school campus. His father was a vegetable vendor and can't afford a school for his boy... The wall of the school was partly broken such that one can peep inside to look at the school playground and assembly hall... every morning when the school bell ringed he  ran towards the wall... peeps inside and looks at the students lining up for the morning assembly. He has a smile on his face. A smile showing his happiness on seeing so many kids together in front of him in the same dress standing in a queue in attention. He looked at his clothes and that smile fades away. He thought for a moment why can't i go inside. Why doesn't my mother allow me to go to school. And then he again looked inside the school and he saw some happy faces, some sad faces, some just woken up faces, some angry faces and many more. The chorus starts the morning prayers. In past one year he had by-hearted all the songs sang by the group. He used to sing along with them. And then starts the P.T. . Seeing the same thing for more than over one year he now knows all the P.T. better than the P.T. teacher himself. He mimics it every morning with each whistle. Though he has never played football in his 9 years of life for he has no friend around yet he knows every rule by watching the students playing. He might not have known the technical terms but yes he knows what will happen next if someone hands the ball or if someone kicks offside...
Now let me ask you some questions and i don't want the answer. I want you to answer it to yourself.
Is that boy really missing the study part?
If by seeing he can learn so much what would have happened if he was allowed to be a part of it?
Standing in the morning assembly when we were kids, did anyone of you ever thought that yes we are the lucky ones to be a part of this assembly, there are many others who don't even know what assembly means?
The P.T. which meant as an act of torture to us could be a fun to ones who aren't a part of it.?
May be that boy will never go to school, may be that boy will never study, may not have books, may not have friends, may not play football but that boy wants to.
Education isn't confined only in four walls. Education is all about making your personality. Education is all about discovering what is best for you, what is best in you.
That small boy, 9 years old, at that small age was missing playing with friends, was missing that school dress, was missing that football, that assembly, that P.T. . May be when he will grow older he will miss the study, the knowledge... may be when he will grow old enough he will understand why his mother didn't allow him to go to school. May be then he will blame the education system. The system which takes a fees of 20 thousand per month for teach ABCD... for providing a playground to play, for bringing so many students together... but what about those who can't afford.?
May be he will not get a job and will be a vendor like his father but his heart will always know that if he would have gotten the chance he might have been a different person...
May be then he will understand that this was the best his parents could do for him.
When we say education is for all and charge 20000 per month for that AC classrooms then yes 'Education is for all'.
This article is not anything to raise funds or to target those millionaires schools... its just that if every one of us takes the initiative of talking to one boy, and share our life experience with him, let him play with us, give him our old books, our school dress and make him feel alive then we are a part of education is to all. They don't demand much. Its just that they don't have anything. Instead of travelling in a reserved autos and cabs go for the shared ones... donate that money to some one who needs it.
Knowledge is for sharing. Share it. Be a good person. We all had so many things in life which many of them can't afford. Make it pay. Take the initiative for that one boy. One small boy. Help him to be a good person. Help him to get educated. Donate one hour of your life playing with him, talking to him... might be the society might change.

                                                      THE END
