Cydia Installer updated to 1.1.15 to fix passcode issue, adds multitasking, iPhone 6 support, and much more

Cydia Installer just received a 1.1.15 update to fix the lingering passcode issue. You can now update Cydia on your jailbroken iOS 8 device and use a passcode without any side effects.
More impressively, perhaps, is the introduction of new multitasking capability! Yes, true multitasking with Cydia is finally here if you’re jailbroken with iOS 8. Amazing.
Then, there’s support for the iPhone 6 Plus! That includes rotation support.

What's new in cydia 1.1.15

  • Correct rotation to only on tablets to match Apple's UI style guidelines.
  • Make Installed tab icon consistent.
  • incompatibility with cache wipers (such as iCleaner) that cause Cydia to crash when you try to run it after.

  • Changes in Cydia 1.1.14
    iOS 8 Passcode Compatibility
Cydia no longer causes your device to lock up while booting on iOS 8 when you use a passcode. We recommend you use a passcode for security. (Under Settings, go to "Touch ID & Passcode", and "Turn Passcode On".)
If you have installed unsupported stashing modifications, you may want to restore and jailbreak again, instead of directly installing this update (those modifications are unsupported).
    Multitasking Support on iOS 8
Cydia now backgrounds almost like a regular application (but only on iOS 8). This has been a major architectural change: please alert us to any issues.
This allows you to switch back/forth between Cydia and other applications (such as Safari, or the Google two-factor authentication app) without losing your package selection state.
    New Window and Hijack Blocking
One of the biggest complaints about Cydia in the last year has been a new kind of ad seen on some repositories: a sudden redirect to the App Store.
Cydia now blocks "popups" and asks the user before opening the App Store.
    Partial iPhone 6 Plus Support
Cydia supports rotation on the iPhone 6 Plus and has a new @3x icon and tabbar. Cydia renders at the native resolution on both the 6 and 6 Plus.
Videos Work Again (on iOS 7.1-8.1)
Cydia on iOS 7.1 had an issue where playing video would cause the device to "lock up". This bug has finally been fixed! The new iOS 8 video issue (a YouTube error message) is also fixed.
Localization Works Now on iOS 8
Users of Cydia 1.1.13 (only available via a manual installation process) may have noticed Cydia only displayed in English :(. This has been fixed! Yay!
    Queue Status is "Less Incorrect"
Sometimes Cydia would not have packages queued but claim it did, or would have packages queued and claim it did not; this happens less ;P.
Known Issues Specific to iOS 8
When installing packages that put icons on SpringBoard, the icons may not appear. Rebooting might make them appear. This is because our "uicache" tool, which refreshes icons, has not yet been updated for iOS 8.
We are working on this, and a fix will come later as part of the UIKit Tools package as soon as we can manage.
If you need to install it directly (such as if you've jailbroken and haven't installed Cydia yet):http://apt.saurik.com/debs/cydia_1.1.14_iphoneos-arm.deb

Biggest Cydia update ever? Saurik really went all out with this one! He’s accepting donations via the Cydia Installer page. Sound off in the comments with your thoughts.

Saurik releases Cydia Substrate to fix app installation issues, iTunes syncing bugs, and more

If you’re jailbroken on iOS 8 and you have Cydia installed, you should check for a new version of Substrate that just went live.
Cydia Substrate 0.9.5014 comes right on the heels of the Pangu team’s 0.2 Untether updatefor iOS 8. Both Pangu and Saurik are working around the clock to shore up as many bugs and issues as possible related to the jailbreak and subsequent Cydia support.
Here are Saurik’s release notes for the updated package:
Cydia Substrate 0.9.5014 fixes a few bugs reported on iOS 8 with 0.9.5013, including “apps do not install”, “iTunes does not sync”, and “icons are gone”.
This issue sometimes led to devices being unable to boot without disabling Substrate (holding down volume up).

As this update makes Substrate work more consistently, installing this update exposed bugs in Substrate 0.9.5013 for many users. It is important to also use the latest versions of Substrate (at least version 0.9.5014) with this new untether.

(If you're curious for more detail, this is what saurik was discussing fixing in this comment about why he temporarily pulled the Pangu untether 0.2 update.)

Just to be clear, these updates don't fix the problem causing devices to freeze upon booting if you set a passcode. More detail from the Pangu 8.0-8.1 Untether page in Cydia:
Updating this package requires a reboot; please note that rebooting can surface problems unrelated to the untether or Cydia Substrate. If you've set a passcode/TouchID, rebooting may cause your device to freeze: please disable passcodes/TouchID until further notice (sorry :/). Having incompatible tweaks installed can also cause problems upon rebooting.
As mentioned, you will need to be jailbroken and already have Cydia installed to install this update. If you’ve yet to jailbreak or install Cydia, you can do so using our iOS 8 jailbreak tutorial and Cydia installation guide.

Have you updated to Cydia Substrate 0.9.5014 yet?

Pangu releases iOS 8.x jailbreak untether update to fix Cydia Substrate loading, iMessage bugs, and safari crashes

The Pangu team has just released an update to their untethered jailbreak. Users who are already jailbroken can venture into the Pangu app on the Home screen in order to update.

How to: Tap Pangu icon on your homescreen then tap Manage and you will see the update.

Note : IMPORTANT: Do not set a passcode!

To update, launch the Pangu app, which should be located on your Home screen and tap the Manager tab at the bottom of the screen. There, under the update tab, you should see the Pangu 8.0-8.1.x Untether update. Tap the download (arrow) button to install the update.
After tapping the update button, the new untether .deb file will download, and you’ll be prompted to reboot your device to install the update untether.
The actual Pangu jailbreak tool has yet to be update from version 1.0.1, but we presume that is coming shortly as well. For now, if you want to run the latest version of the Pangu untether, you’ll need to jailbreak using the tool, then update post jailbreak.

Some People are experiencing Screen Blackout after updating :
    - To fix this problem you have  Power down then hold volume up while booting, then reboot . Then iPhone will boot normally.

Have you updated yet? Does it fix many of the issues you’ve experienced with the Pangu jailbreak? comment  below.

Happy New Year - Visually stunning HNY is a great Entertainer

Main Hoona Na and Om Shanti Om (both the films directed by Farah Khan) are considered one of the most entertaining bollywood films. And after Farah's Tees Maar Khan's debacle, she is back with her new outing HAPPY NEW YEAR which was supposed to be made in 2005 but was later shelved! Will it be SRK's another Ra.one or will it be into the lists of the most entertaining films?

    Plot :

This is the ultimate underdog story where a team of 'losers' win the love of millions in their quest to pull off the biggest diamond heist ever!
Charlie(ShahRukh Khan) is planning to rob some diamonds from Charan Grover(Jackie Shroff) for a specific reason(Watch the movie and you will get to know) with help of his 5 friends. But to rob him he has to take part in World Dance Championship! The plot looks so simple and you might be thinking such a simple plot but a very long film? Well apart from the plot the movie has many other things to offer!

    Cast :

ShahRukh Khan rocks in the film! His dialogue delivery, especially during the emotional moments is fantastic!

Deepika Padukone as Mohini has done a good job as a bar dancer cum dancer teacher cum a WINNER!

Boman Irani as a middle aged Parsi chick magnet is funny

Abhishek comes out as a surprise in this movies, having had string of annoying performances after Guru.

Vivaan Shah as Rohan, has done a cool job as a hacker but needs a bit grooming though a good talent found.

    Direction :

Farah Khan has directed a heist film without any blood and gore or love making scene, which is in itself an achievement, because family audiences were looking for such a film with GREAT production values for a very long time! I guess last one was...Ah! Very few! And I should say a film doesn't need a kissing scene to make it impressive for the youth because I am 18 and I watch movies with my family! I didn't need to look down for any scene in the film! I didn't hear a single word of disgust from my parent like 'Is that what you surf or watch on Internet'. I applaud Farah for that.

    Music :

Music by Vishal-Shekhar will grow inside you and grows to max after watching the movie. India-Waale and Manwa-laage already topping the charts, I think Satakli will grow slowly within the people. My pick of the lot is Satakli and Manwa-Laage.

    Verdict : 2.5/5

    Conclusion :

Despite usual clichés, HAPPY NEW YEAR excels as a film! With great production values, heart warming moments, good Music, good story, good direction, this is a film Audience(especially families) were looking for and Here it is. Happy New year is a fun watch! Recommended!

Appellancy Cydia Tweak Just got updated to support iOS 8

Appellancy is a next-generation face recognition tweak for your iDevice that supports all iPhones, iPods, and iPads running iOS 7 or 8. It is nearly flawless in its recognition, and it integrates into the native look and feel of iOS 7 so well that you’ll wonder why it isn't a native feature.

Appellancy is developed By Elijah Frederickson

There is a simple API for other developers to integrate Appellancy into their projects, more details available at Github, so Appellancy is not limited to the lockscreen, it is possible to integrate into many app locking tweaks.
Because Appellancy uses the camera, it will have an effect on the battery life. However, Appellancy only uses the camera when it needs to, which minimizes the effect on the battery, so battery usage should be almost unnoticeable.

It is currently compatible with most known lockscreen tweaks, including, but not limited to: ClassicLockScreen, Convergance, and iCaughtU.
On older/weaker devices (such as the iPod 5 and iPhone 4) it is recommended to have no more than 20 scanned photos or it may result in instability.

    What’s new in Appellancy v-1.1-20

    - iOS 8 Compatible
    - Fixed a bug on iOS 7.1
    - Revamped settings page
    - Fixed many crashes
    - Updated to use LibPass
    - Many other fixes and changes

Appellancy costs $1.99. You can get Appellancy from Cydia’s BigBoss repository and it supports iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch running iOS 7.x , iOS 7.1.x ,iOS 8.x.

How To Manually Install Cydia After iOS 8 – 8.1 Pangu Jailbreak

The Pangu team today released an iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 jailbreak for iPhone 4s and up, all iPads and iPod touch 5G. The jailbreak took everyone by surprise, including Cydia creator Jay Freeman aka saurik, who couldn’t update Cydia in time.
The good news is that saurik has, in a short period of time, managed to update Cydia for iOS 8 and iOS 8.1, and has pushed its .deb file to his website for manual download. He has also handed the Cydia installation package to the Pangu team, who should hopefully release a quick update to Pangu, with Cydia.
I’ve given a new version of Cydia Installer in the form of a standard jailbreak bootstrap for inclusion in a new version of their jailbreak. I’ve also pushed the .deb of the iOS 8 version of Cydia to apt.saurik.com for manual download, but not yet to my repository. A lot of thanks goes out to limneos, who tested the new build for me, as I was at an airport (and now am frantically typing this message while they figure out how to retract the jetbridge from the plane I’m on that is about to take off).

How to manually install Cydia on iOS 8 after Jailbreaking using Pangu iOS jailbreak tool :

Step 1: Jailbreak iOS 8 , Then Open Pangu app
Step 2: Install OpenSSH on your device from the Pangu app
Step 3: Download and install CyberDuck SFTP client and if you’re on Windows, download and install WinSCP.
Step 4: First open up Settings on your iPhone and tap on “WiFi”. Then tap on the “i” in order to find out what your IP address is. You’ll need to keep this screen up to revert back to.
Step 5: Launch CyberDuck and connect to your iOS device’s IP address
To Connect , enter ther Following Details :
    •  Host: The IP address from your iPhone
    •      Username: root
    •      Password: alpine
    •      Port: 21 or 22, use whichever one works.
Step 6: Download the needed Cydia files, and place them on your iOS device via CyberDuck
    Note :
    • Once you’re logged in, we need to go to the folder where we put the deb files. So type this:
    • “cd /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/” and hit enter. Now we’re in the folder so we can install the deb files.
Step 7: Click CommandTerminal, and type restart or reboot and click Send. This will reboot your iOS device.
Upon reboot, you should see the Cydia icon on your Home screen. Launch Cydia to initialize and enjoy your new jailbroken iPhone with Cydia!

What do you think? Did this work for you? How does it feel to have Cydia running on iOS 8.1?

Pangu releases jailbreak for iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 with some strings attached

The Pangu team has released a jailbreak for iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 devices today, just about 35 days after the launch of Apple’s latest mobile operating system. The download link for Pangu for iOS 8 are available on the official Pangu website .

Although this is great news for jailbreakers, it does come with a few strings attached that make this initial iOS 8 jailbreak release somewhat useless for the time being.

The big caveat - it's SSH only right now. Meaning Cydia is not installed with the jailbreak. However, this should prove a better release style - you'll remember for iOS 7 there was much frustration from the community around "my favorite tweak isn't updated for iOS 7 yet!" Developers need time to update and release tweaks to support the new firmware. An SSH only jailbreak allows the major developers to update and have iOS 8 support ready when Cydia is ready as well.

Click Here to download pangu jailbreak for iOS 8 for Windows .

Saurik is aware of the jailbreak release, although he's traveling today so there will be some delays until he can address Cydia compatibility. He commented on Reddit mentioning this is currently his highest priority.

So, windknown has contacted me, about a half hour ago, via e-mail. He has told me one of the issues that is keeping Substrate from working on the device, which will probably require me to build a little binary patch for dyld as part of the Substrate installation sequence. This was the worst possible day for me, as I'm traveling back to Santa Barbara today (I'm currently in Texas, having come here to give a talk at The Big Android BBQ), which means this will take me a little longer than I'd like, but clearly getting Cydia and Substrate working on iOS 8 is my highest priority. I thankfully think that I actually can start working a little on one of the Substrate issues using an iOS 7 "model" based on the information provided by windknown, which means I'll lose less time to not having all of my devices with me. (I currently have no clue why Cydia itself is not functioning, but will find out later today when I can see it myself.)

    Device compatibility

According to Pangu’s website, Pangu for iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 is compatible with the following devices:
    • iPod touch 5G
    • iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus
    • iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad, iPad Air, iPad Air 2 (we’re not entirely sure about the iPad compatibility here)
Here's the list of devices supported:

    Important Tips To Notice :
    #1 Prepare to Jailbreak
Please back up your data, though Pangu jailbreak (iOS8) on most models are tested successfully, or hope that you back up your data before jailbreak to avoid data loss. Please turn off the screen before the jailbreak locks and setting off iCloud "Find My iPhone" feature.
#2 Jailbreak via OTA upgrade system failure
OTA upgraded system will have many factors, if repeated attempts fail, please download the latest official firmware Brush and try again. In addition, Pangu (iOS8) additional brush and automatic activation feature, simply click the Brush can try to escape, Pangu will automatically activate and jailbreak your device.
#3 "Storage capacity is almost full," the problem is displayed on the 3 devices
This is due to the jailbreak program writes the resulting alarm system directory, does not affect the normal use. When Cydia compatible, click on Cydia will move directory processing, you can solve the problem.

    iFB’s recommendation

At this time, we highly suggest you stay away from this jailbreak until further notice. As noted above, this release is mostly for developers and for Saurik himself to update Cydia for iOS 8. Even if you were able to jailbreak now, you wouldn’t be able to do much with your device at this time, unless you’re a developer.
What you can do now is get ready for an upcoming version of Pangu by updating or restoring to iOS 8.1 using iTunes (not OTA). This will ensure that you’re fully ready when a stable version of Pangu is released.
